Another Monday

So...it's Monday morning (foggy, too) and I'm wide awake (thanks to an early morning job interview which I'm already back home from). It's funny that when I was working Mondays were totally different from what they are now. I used to dread Sunday afternoons, sometimes I'd even come down with the worst stomach or headaches imaginable...all because I knew Monday was right around the corner. Now...I just make mental notes of what I can cook for the coming week's suppers, what projects I want to work on, and what big chores need to be finished. Totally different. I'm also helping plan a surprise birthday party for my Granny. Her birthday is in early February, but this Saturday we'll be celebrating. It's pretty funny how different it is when planning a party for someone in their eighties. My cousin is putting together a slide show of pictures and we've had a hard time finding pictures of Granny when she was young. She doesn't have any wedding

Down and Out

So...lately I've been pretty bummed. I do this every so often so it's not too big of a thing. I have a pity party, have a little meltdown, wash my face and figure out how to make the next day better. Maybe it's one of those "blessings" of being a girl...regardless, it is what it is. I'm still unemployed. Hopefully that will change soon. My mom got a job (today actually) working two days a week in a doctor's office helping out with simple medical procedures. She was very excited as she's been at the house for a lot longer than I have (real estate stinks) and has been experiencing the "What's My Purpose" blues for a while now. I'm excited for her. She was going today to buy a set of scrubs and was excited. I'll admit...I'm a b

The Kong

So...if you have a Kong, you already know it's a WONDERFUL dog toy that gives you free time by making your canine buddy "work" for his/her treat. There are special Kong treats that you can buy but they're kinda pricey so we just put any treat in there that won't fall out on its own. We used to put plain dog biscuits in there and the only way Sebastian would ever get any of the treat was if the biscuits broke against each other while he was bouncing it all around the house. Eventually, he learned that if he pushed it off the end of the bed, every once in a while the biscuits would break and he'd get some treat. It got to where he'd push it off, look over the side of the bed, jump down, bring it back up to the bed, and start all over. Well, lately he's found another method to win the prize... He puts the Kong on his brown bed (that's his favorite color, we think...he only gets on brown blankets and such...kinda weird, but whatever) grabs a mouthf
