When Daddy's Away...

Ryan flew to Tennessee to visit family this past weekend. It was a three day weekend for us and I think he was a little concerned about how things were going to unravel. And you know what? Funny things happen when Daddy leaves town.

Naps get refused.



Puppies get treats (too bad the eggs were already gone by the time I got the camera ready).



Sunrises are attempted (only to realize that our backyard wasn't made for watching sunrises...so we enjoyed the birds singing instead).




Babies get comfortable.




Craft rooms get reorganized (before).

And after...



New decorations go up.




Food scales (bought 5 months ago) finally get mounted.


Decadent desserts get devoured.



Beautiful suppers are prepared.
Why yes, I DID mean to post the same picture. It was supper AND dessert...and it was devoured in the bed. And I paid for it the next morning.


I'm soon on the way to pick up the hubs (and his dad). And CANNOT wait.

Can I please share my heart? (Be prepared for a lot of whining.) I’m tired. I’m emotionally tired, spiritually tired, financially tired, and physically tired. I’m just tired. My Realization

We went camping this past weekend with Ryan’s brother and his family. We had a great time…even with nap-deprived kiddies with yucky stomachs, we really enjoyed ourselves and were able to visit and relax (although I’m not sure I can speak for J, J, S, S). J and J often get cracked up at how much Ryan and I shop at Sam’s. I’ve never really thought about it much but this weekend I realized that we really do shop there A LOT. We actually go there…and I’m a little embarrassed to admit this…about once a week…sometimes twice. Most of the normal things we get there we buy because they are way cheaper than buying in a normal store or because I get tired of constantly having to buy more to keep from running out. However, we also buy quite a bit of “stuff” from Sam’s. (Even as I’m typing this I’m laughing and thinking about even the most recent items we’ve picked up…holy cow…we’ve got it bad.) Where's Your Inner Sexy?

My freezer/pantry challenge is going quite well. Last Sunday I backslid a little and bought a few things from Walmart. Mainly it was things for an easy lunch, but I also bought a couple of items that I was craving. No harm in that, right? This morning I cheated a little and started cleaning out the pantry and kitchen freezer. I found things that I knew we weren't going to eat (a HUGE bag of oatmeal not even opened as well as other things that we just don't eat anymore). Tomorrow they'll be on their way to a local hangout for ladies . After church I worked on the freezer. I found some stuff that was pretty freezer burnt so I went ahead and tossed it. One was a bag of peas. I honestly stood there and tried to remember when I bought them...I finally remembered and realized that I'd had them for almost two and a half years! I guess it's time to go.
